What is the new BBCOR Performance Standard?
I'll try to keep this short and to the point. In 2010 the NCAA and National High School Federation adopted a new bat performance standard. This new standard was adopted because too many composite bats were failing performance testing due to natural break in and also Bat Rolling and Bat Shaving. This new standard puts tighter specifications on all certified bats. Each bat must pass a new test prior to being certified. This new test requires that each bat is Rolled prior to being tested to ensure it doesn't exceed the designed exit speed. Manufactures are rumored to be making the walls thicker and even in some cases putting a bumper inside the barrels to prevent excess wall flexing. More information can be found at the following link. http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/rules/baseball/bats/NCAAABIProcedure.pdf. UPDATE - AS of 1/27/2012 - We've only found 1 manufacturer that is using the bushing system. Most manufacturers are increasing the barrel thicknesses, changing the composite weave, adding foam to the inside and a combination of these methods to deaden the perfomance of the bats.

What is the turnaround time for your Bat Rolling & Bat Shaving Services?
We roll ALL bats the same day we get them and ship the following business day. Bat Shaving usually take 2 days. You must ensure the glue used to secure your end cap has time to cure or you might have problems with end cap separation. All Pre Rolled or Pre Shaved bat will be usually shipped within 2-3 business days from time of order. Our inventory is new bats still in the wrapper and as orders are received we process them accordingly. Orders are processed first come first serve.
Why should I roll my Bat?
When rolling a bat, it's placed between two rollers of a Bat Roller and then pressure is applied so that as the bat passes through the rollers the bats fibers are stretched out and the glue holding the layers together is broken down. The is the same thing that happens as you take hours of batting practice. This causes the fibers to become more flexible which greatly improves the bat's trampoline effect. This trampoline effect is what produces the batted ball speed and distance. It will also widen the sweet spot of the bat which will make you a more consistent hitter.
How long does it take to properly roll a bat?
Each bat from start to finish takes about 15-20 minutes to roll properly. If you look around you'll find videos of bats being rolled in 5 minutes or less. I can assure you that you're NOT getting a good roll in 5 minutes.

Can you briefly explain your bat rolling process?
Most companies determine the maximum rolling pressure and start at that pressure. This is totally incorrect and usually causes durability problems and also potentially causes your paint to spider web prematurely. We roll all bats in 3-4 progressive compression points (depending on the type of bat). After we've rolled your bat it will have 300+ passes through the Bat Roller. Our process takes longer than those charging less but we want you to be happy so we don't cut corners. We DO NOT heat your bat before rolling since it does not provide any additional benefits. In fact it actually hurts the rolling process.
What if my bat has already been used and I think it's broken in?
Even bats the have been used will benefit from our rolling process. We get bats in every week that have 300-400 hits on them and after we get the bats back to the owner they are very surprised with the results. In most cases you haven't properly broken your bat in and after a good rolling your bat will performance at it's highest potential.
What if my bat has been rolled by someone else and I'm not happy with the results?
Every week we see bats come in that have been rolled by some other fly by night company. We have over 8 years of experience rolling bats and you can be rest assured you'll get the best results by using our rolling services. I most cases other companies don't roll your bats properly and you are not seeing the best results. We tell people all the time not to waste their time with guys that promise super results and only charge $20 to roll your bat. I can tell you for sure that for $20 you getting a bad roll job. Our rolling process take longer but the results to our customers make it well worth the extra time we spend with each bat.
Is bat rolling legal?
This is one of the most debated topics on today. All we can do is give you the facts as they stand today. Currently rolling is legal in only 1 slow pitch softball association. This association (ISA) clearly states in their rule book that rolling is legal. In another association (ASA), they have recently adopted a bat certification process that requires all bats to be tested after they have been rolled. This ensures each bat that is certified by them does not exceed their performance factor after being rolling. We interpret this as rolling being legal even though it doesn't specifically say so. In USSSA, they do clearly state rolling is against the rules. Our opinion is that rolling your bat is doing nothing more than taking 500 BP swings. You're just doing it in a more controlled fashion and in a shorter period of time. Our advice to you is to check with your local association or league and find out what their stance is on this subject.
How do I know my bat was actually rolled or shaved?
If requested , we can provide you with pictures of your bat being rolled or shaved. We don't play games like other bat rolling - shaving companies. We value your business and want you to come back and tell others about our services.
