What are the benefits of getting my bat Heat Rolled?
By using our Heated Bat Rolling service you will not have to put 400-500 hits on your bat before it performs at its highest level. Used bats benefit from rolling because typically during normal use most hitters don't properly rotate their bats so you will have hot spots and dead spots. Our processes will even the performance across the entire barrel diameter. Regardless of what manufacturers say, all bats require some break in time perform they start to open up. By using our heated rolling process you'll be confident to start using your bat in as soon as you unwrap it from our shipping box.

Heated Bat Rolling Details
We had been experimenting with Heated Bat Rolling for several years and never really found too much benefit with the process. With the increased need for pre heating to get the newer bats to properly respond to the rolling process we decided it was necessary to revisit the heating process and see if there were any new benefits. What we found was that with the current designs used in most Softball and Baseball bats that by pre heating these bats prior to rolling we were seeing much better results. The thicker walls and different composite makeup has made rolling these bats a challenge. It is very difficult to get the walls to flex enough to get them to break in thoroughly. By heating these bats first we found it much easier and in fact we are seeing distance increases closer to that earlier models. In addition to new Adult baseball bats, we are finding that most manufacturers are now changing the design of the newer Slowpitch Softball bats. They are using less durable paint and they are also using a new spiral wrap design that causes bats to actually unravel as they exceed the designed performance levels. By heating your bat before rolling then you virtually eliminate this issue.

Do you compression test bats before and after to verify maximum results?
We compression test ALL bats before and after our heated rolling process. This ensures your bat will perform at its highest level WITHOUT exceeding the certified performance levels. Please add a note on your order if you desire to have the before and after results. We will add these before and after results to your order notes. You will need to log into your account and view the "NOTES" area to view these results.

Even bats the have been used will benefit from our rolling process. We receive bats in every week that have 300-400 hits on them and after we get the bats back to the owner they are very surprised with the results. In most cases you haven't properly broken your bat in and after a good rolling your bat will performance at its highest potential.

Is Rolling considered Illegal?
While we don't discuss the legalities of Bat Rolling we would recommend that you consult your local league or association in regards to the rolling process. In most cases, there are rules in regards to rolling that prohibit such alteration but in many leagues and associations the rules are not so clear and also in leagues with no bats rules, homerun derbies or showcases the process is acceptable. We compress test ALL bats to ensure they still are performing at or below the maximum allowable level. Also, since ALL manufacturers are required to send a sampling of their bats to independent testing facilities prior to approval for use our belief is that since it has already been proven that Tested bats will not exceed the designed performance levels after and ABI process (identical to our rolling process) rolling is simply allowing your bat to performance at it's optimal level without having to put 1000's of hits on it before it reaches this level.

Is Rolling and/or Shaving considered Illegal and will it void my warranty?
While we don't get into the legalities of the rolling and/or shaving process we do recommend that you consult your local league or association in regards to their rules regarding shaving. In most cases, Rolling and/or Shaving is not approved for use in any sanctioned league or tournament play but in many leagues, showcases or homerun derbies it is approved. Shaving and or Rolling WILL void all warranties originally offered on your bat therefore you should take that into consideration prior to making your purchase.

What Shaving Level should I choose?
We offer 3 levels of shaving. Normal shaving level is a balanced level of good performance and good durability (Approximately 40% loss in durability). Aggressive shaving (better performance but greater likely hood of cracking in less than 400 hits or less) and Freakin HOT level (This is the highest level possible when shaving). With the Freakin HOT level you may only get a couple hundred hits before breakage. We recommend the normal level to most customers since the cost of bats nowadays is quite expensive but if money is not a concern, feel free to select one of our higher shaving levels.

Can you quickly explain the shaving process?
Shaving is a process that requires the removal of the end cap. Once the end cap is removed, the bat is placed in a Digital CNC Lathe. Once the settings have been programmed into the Lathe a bar with a special cutting tool is inserted into the rotating bat and a predetermined about of material is removed. Once that is completed, the end cap is securely attached. After several hours of curing the bat is ready to ship back to the customer.

What is the value of the Polymer Coating?
Polymer coating is a fairly new process that slows down the expedited breakage that all shaved bats will have. We apply a very thin coating to the inside of the bat to give it some added protection. There is no additional weight added to the bat by doing this process so it’s highly recommended for those looking for optimal performance and durability from their newly shaved bat.

What if my bat has already been used and I think it's broken in?
Even bats the have been used will benefit from our shaving and rolling process. We get bats in every week that has 300-400 hits on them and after we get the bats back to the owner they are very surprised with the results. Keep in mind that if you’re getting a very used bat shaved it will crack that much quicker.
